YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister, delivered the second tranche of YSR Aasara on Thursday, crediting almost Rs 6,440 crore into the accounts of 78.76 lakh women belonging to 7.97 lakh Self Help Groups for the second year in a row (SHG).
The outstanding loans of women SHGs, which totaled Rs 25,517 crore as of April 2019, would be credited straight to their accounts in four instalments under the plan.
He added that over 1 crore women from 9.41 lakh SHGs benefited from zero-interest loans, for which the government credited Rs 2362 crore. Amma Vodi helped 44.50 lakh mothers and 85 lakh children by getting Rs 13,023 crore. In the State, almost 61 lakh people are receiving pensions, compared to only 39 lakh under the TDP’s tenure. The former administration paid Rs 450 crore to provide a monthly pension of Rs 1000, but the present government has spent Rs 1450 crore to provide a monthly pension of Rs 2250.
