The Assam Transport Ministry has requested the All Assam Motor Transport Association to call off the strike. The Minister of Transport arranged a meeting on October 6.
The official letter reads, “I direct you to inform me that the Hon’ble Minister of Transport has convened a meeting on October 6, 2020 at 4:00 pm at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapur. Reference. You are therefore requested to attend the above meeting. You have been requested to withdraw the indefinite strike from 5 October 2020. ”
The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has called for an indefinite ‘chakka bond’ from Monday to emphasize their various demands. The association has demanded an increase in bus fares in view of the Kovid-19 epidemic.
