At least 30 dead, 56 wounded in Pakistan mosque blast during Friday Prayers



Peshawar: At least 30 worshipers were killed by an unidentified bomb while offering Friday prayers at a mosque in Peshawar’s Kocha Risaldar district’s Qissa Khwani bazaar today. While speaking with Geo News, police and first responders corroborated the information.

A large number of people were also injured as

a result of the explosion. The injured are being rushed to Lady Reading Hospital by rescue teams, who are assisted by residents and neighbors who are transporting the injured on their motorcycles and cars.

The police investigation is still underway to determine the cause of the incident. Ten of the injured have been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital in critical condition.

According to witnesses, at least 150 worshippers were inside the mosque at the time of the explosion.

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast yet, but the Islamic State and a violent Pakistani Taliban group have both carried out similar attacks in the region, which is close to the Afghan border.
