So far, 23 cases have been filed against the controversial joint secretary general of Hefazat, Mamunul Haque. In all the cases, the law enforcement is preparing to remand him by showing Shawn’s arrest. Of these, 16 are in Dhaka. Police have questioned Mamunul, who has been remanded for seven days in a case of Mohammadpur police station, for five consecutive days. Mamunul will then be questioned by the CID.
Hefazat’s Assistant Secretary General and Dhaka Metropolitan Vice President Khurshid Alam Kashemi, Dhaka Metropolitan Joint Secretary Ihteshamul Haque Sakhi and several other leaders have also been interrogated.
The CID is verifying what kind of statements are being made by the leaders of Hefazat on the same issue in separate and joint interrogations.
Tejgaon Division DC Harun Aur Rashid, the investigating officer in the case, told the media that Mamunul had already been asked to clarify several issues. The answers to many of his questions are not satisfactory. Again, he is acknowledging his responsibility in some matters.

Hefazat-e-Islam joint secretary general Khalid Saifullah Ayubi has been remanded in custody for five days in a sabotage case filed at Paltan police station on Friday (April 23rd). Besides, four-day remand of Dhaka Metropolitan Assistant Office Secretary Ihteshamul Haque Sakhi was granted.
