Bangladeshi Ruma is now the US Attorney

Jannatul Mawa Ruma has been listed as an attorney at law for the first time after passing the New York State Bar Exam. Ruma, who holds a JD degree from Western New England University, will be able to hold professional duties in 36 states, including the United States Supreme Court. Apart from Ruma, only 9 out of Bangladeshi-Americans have achieved this qualification.

Ruma passed (Advocacy) from Bangladesh Bar Council in 2014.
she was a member of the Chittagong District Bar Association. She studied at Mohammad Char Government Primary School, Shah Umrabad High School, Kislay Adarsh ​​Shiksha Niketan in Khutakhali, Enayetbazar Women’s College in Chittagong and Premier University.

Ruma is the 6th child of Anwara Begum and Haji Manzur Alam Saudagar, residents of Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. she is currently an American citizen. Jannatul Mawa Ruma’s husband is the organizing secretary of the New York Metropolitan Awami League. Ruma lives in New York with her only daughter, husband and mother-in-law.
