The butchers Community, “Jamat-e-Quraish met former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition Siddaramiah at his office at Vidhansoudha this afternoon with reference to likely Beef ban in Karnataka. Siddaramiah expressed displeasure on the move by the State Government and assured that he would take up the matter at an appropriate level.
The delegation met Siddaramiah under the leadership of Shivajinagar constituency MLA Rizwan Arshad and expressed concerned on the issue and sought his intervention on the matter.
It may be noted that an estimated two lakh persons will become jobless and it is a food for nearly one crore people in the State, in case Beef Ban becomes a reality.
It may be noted that the Minister for Animal Husbandry, Prabhu Chouhan had alleged that his Ministery will table a bill seeking Beef Ban in Karnataka in winter session last week. It may be noted that BJP Member of Parliament, C T Ravi had also raked up the issue last month in a press briefing intending Beef Ban.
