Jammu: The BSF opened fire on a Pakistani drone on sighting it near the International Border (IB) in the Kanachak sector of Jammu district.
Giving information on Saturday, a senior BSF officer said that on the night of July 22, BSF personnel saw a flashing red light from Pakistan’s side in the Kanachak area. Vigilant BSF personnel opened fire on it.
He said the troops have launched a search operation in the area, which is still on. Even before this, there have been many examples of drones dropping weapons from Pakistan near the international border in Jammu for terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BSF has recovered several weapons in the past and foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists and their handlers across the border.
Earlier, the police had busted three modules of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), of which seven members were arrested and 20 drones from Pakistan were shot down, out of which a huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives materialized. The cache was recovered.
