The former Union Home Minister is in CBI custody on a five-day remand. Ever since the arrest of Chidambaram on 21st August, it has been promoting in the media and social media as old revenge of Home Minister Amit Shah from former Home Minister P Chidambaram. In social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, this promotion is going on fast. On social media, people are attaching a video of Home Minister Amit Shah’s 2010 .
However, BJP leaders are reacting strongly to this. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain refused to accept it as an act of political vendetta. But a video clip of Chidambaram’s press conference (in the Congress office on Wednesday) has been presented on the media site along with a 2010 video clip of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Journalist Harshavardhan Tripathi is appealing to people by tweeting that he should not make this CBI action against Chidambaram as Chidambaram vs Amit Shah. At the same time, journalist-turned-politician Ashutosh has questioned this.
After the arrest of Chidambaram, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has tweeted that justice is done in Prabhu’s place. Former home minister P Chidambaram used the words saffron terrorism and Hindu terrorism. Though Sadhvi Pragyasinh has not received any relief from the court over the allegations leveled against him, P Chidambaram has been sarcastically after being sent on remand.
Some people on social media linked Tulsiram Prajapati and Sohrabuddin to the fake encounter case, saying that like Chidambaram in 2010, Amit Shah was also trying to escape the grip of the CBI. When CBI arrived to arrest Shah too, he was in an unknown place for four days. When Shah too did not get anticipatory bail, he came forward and was arrested by the CBI.
It is being said on social media that the cycle has turned and Chidambaram is now the Leader of the Opposition as Rajya Sabha MP and Amit Shah the Home Minister. Chidambaram went missing for the last 27 hours and the anticipation of anticipatory bail came to light. He told himself innocent by press conference. The CBI arrested and is now on four-day CBI remand.
