Dwijing Festival begins in Assam

The much-awaited Dwijing  festival begins on Friday on the banks of the Aie River in Chirang district in Assam.

The fourth edition of the Dwising Festival, which will continue until January 7, promises to thrill the audience with entertainment and fun-filled activities.The 12-day ceremony will feature several singers from the Northeast and a host of dance groups, food carnivals, exhibitions, adventure sports, fashion shows, competitions and other exciting activities.
Bollywood actors like Vishal and Shekhar, Jonita Gandhi, Sugandha Mishra will entice the audience on Friday evening.

With the goal of promoting river tourism in BTC and rural areas of the state, the festival was started in 2016-17 under the moniker of AIE RIVER WINTER FESTIVAL ‘on the banks of river Aie in Chirang district of BTC.

The festival also provides livelihood opportunities for the local people and focuses on business activities for better economic production through rural tourism.
