Gopichand, Tamannaah unite for director Sampath Nandi’s sports drama

The Srinivasa Chitturi-produced film, revolving around rival Kabaddi teams, will have the lead actors step into shoes of two sports coaches…

Actor Gopichand’s next is with director Sampath Nandi, which will be produced under Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner, the makers behind the hit film U Turn. The film’s launch held at Ramanaidu Studios recently was a grand affair. Tamannaah is all set to play the female lead in this prestigious film which will reportedly be made on a large scale with high technical values. Director Boyapati Sreenu, Rajahmundry MP Margani Bharat Ram, BVSN Prasad, Anil Sunkara, KK Radha Mohan, Prasanth Varma were among other guests at the event.

Gopichand, talking about the film, had said, ” I am working for the first time with Silver Screen Srinivasaa garu and Pavan. We have known each other for a long time and have discussed some stories but, this one is the best. I am very happy to do a film with such passionate producers who always want to do good films with a strong story. Sampath came up with a superb script after ‘Gautam Nanda’. I am very happy working with him again for this film. I am working with Tamannaah for the first time. I feel our combination will look good on-screen. She has a very good character in the film.”

Director Sampath Nandi, hoping to bounce back after the colossal failure of Gautam Nanda, had shared, “Gopichand garu is the only reason behind this movie launch today. For the first time, I am doing a sports-based film. I did a lot of research on this subject. Gopichand will be seen as a coach to the AP female Kabaddi team while Tamannaah is doing the role of Telangana female Kabaddi team coach. 25 players will feature in this film, that will have a strong story, good visuals, and touching emotions. My main strength to do this story is Chitturi Srinivasa and Pavan garu.”

Tamannaah, who’s doing her third film with Sampath Nandi, stated, “This film is backed by good content. I wanted to work with Gopichand for a long time and I am happy that it happened with this film. It’s always comfortable working with Sampath garu. My character in the film has a lot of scope for performance. I believe this will be a very good heartfelt film.” Presenter Pavan Kumar, DOP Soundar Rajan, Art Director Rajiv Nair were also present at the event.
