Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to ensure that students returning to the state are properly accommodated.
In a tweet, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) shared the order, saying, “Free admission to Hyderabad for students arriving from Ukraine.” KCR has directed Chief Secretary Shri Somesh Kumar to make all necessary arrangements for the return of Telangana students to Hyderabad from Ukraine.”
TRS working president KT Rama Rao also tweeted the good news about Telangana students arriving safely at the Hyderabad airport. “It’s great to see the first group of students return from Ukraine. Our MLA Prakash Goud Garu and GAD Principal Secretary Vikas Raj met them at Shamshabad Airport earlier today. We’ve had a lot of requests from parents and students. “I’ll make sure they’re all taken care of as soon as possible,” he tweeted.

On Saturday night, a special flight brought 469 Indian students, including 11 from Andhra Pradesh, to New Delhi and Mumbai. Students who have arrived in India are from the western part of Ukraine, where the current situation has had less of an impact, whereas students from the eastern parts, particularly from Kyiv, are still in bunkers waiting for help.
Following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared martial law across the country.
As Russian military forces approach Kyiv, a curfew has been imposed in the Ukrainian capital.
