Agra’s iconic Taj Mahal may be renamed as ram mahal, claimed Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA from Baira constituency, Surendra Singh on Saturday. stirring up a new controversy, the BJP MLA informed reporters that the taj mahal was once a lord shiva temple before it was deconstructed and rebuilt into the well-known tomb.
Surendra Singh in addition claimed that the Agra monument will quickly be renamed beneath the yogi Adityanath administration hailing the chief minister as a descendant of Shivaji.
That is, however, now not the first time the BJP MLA made the surprising claim. in 2018, Singh had said that all monuments in India constructed by Mughal emperors must be renamed. “a place, if named after a Mughal emperor, stinks, however, if the equal vicinity is renamed after Dr Abdul kalam then its fragrance does wonders,” he had stated.
Last year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had renamed a Mughal museum in Agra, the taj mahal metropolis, after Maratha icon Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. “on your new Uttar Pradesh, there is no area for the symbols of “the mentality of slavery”. Shivaji Maharaj is our hero. Jai hind, Jai Bharat!” he had tweeted.
