Hasina-Modi will inaugurate the Dhaka-Jalpaiguri train on March 26
A new interstate passenger train is being launched between Bangladesh and India on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
The train will run directly from Dhaka to New Jalpaiguri Railway Junction in India on the Chilahati-Haldibari route in Nilphamari district. It will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 26.
This information was given in a press release of the Ministry of Railways on Tuesday. It is said that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will visit Dhaka on March 26 to mark the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to inaugurate a new interstate passenger train between Bangladesh and India on the Chilahati-Haldibari route in the Nilphamari district directly from Dhaka to India’s New Jalpaiguri rail junction.
How many days a week the train will run, the time of departure and arrival of train, fare, immigration, name of the train – all these issues will be decided through discussions at the official level of the Ministry of Railways of both the countries.
