Trade and connectivity are high on the agenda at the two-day India-Bangladesh stakeholders meeting in Guwahati.
The focus is on improving its connectivity with the neighboring country to get the best of the rest under the Act East policy for host Assam.
Connectivity aspects will be discussed as a broad topic in the technical sessions, with several sessions specifically planned to focus on road agreements, cross-border surface passage trade and port use agreements.
A 70-member delegation from Bangladesh is participating in the meeting, while a similar top-level team will represent the host nation.
The idea of the meeting is to focus Assam on the trade points of Southeast Asian countries as well as Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal along with India’s trade expansion.
Business meetings on agriculture, mines and minerals, tea and infrastructure will also be held during the meeting.
