Goa’s Chief Minister Manohar Parikar, who has been ill for a long time, has died on Sunday evening. 63-year-old parikers were battling advanced pancreatic cancer. Despite their illness, working with their passion was inspiring for everyone.

Significant Role in Surgical Strike
In just 12 days of the death of 19 soldiers in the attack by Pakistani terrorists on the military base on September 18, 2016 in Kashmir, India had made a surgical strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Behind this surgical strike for the first time in Indian history, the role of Parikar, present at the Defense Minister’s post, is considered to be extremely important.

Earlier, on June 4, 2015, after the assassination of 18 soldiers of the Army by attacking militants in Chandel district of Manipur, he also played a key role in surgical strikes on two camps of militants in Myanmar border. About 100 militants were killed in this operation.

Significantly, Manohar Parikar took oath of Chief Minister of Goa on March 14, 2017. Earlier he was the Defense Minister in the Modi Government. He is the Chief Minister of Goa four times.
