Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will present Triple Talaq today in the Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: The Triple Talaq (Right to Protection of Marriage) Bill today is preparing for crossing in the Rajya Sabha. The 11 opposition parties, including the Congress, have made it clear that in the present form they will not allow the bill to be passed. At the same time, the government claims that it will be successful in passing the bill. All the parties including BJP-Congress have issued whip and asked their MPs to be present in the Rajya Sabha.

The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha last week. Even there the government did not get the support of 11 opposition parties. The AIADMK and BJD, which are considered to be the allies of the government, also had a walkout. The number is in the Lok Sabha with the government but the situation in the Rajya Sabha is reversed. The parties which opposed the Triple Talaq Bill in the Lok Sabha. He has 126 seats out of 244 in the Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, many other small parties including BSP, DMK, ‘AAP’ are not aware of the trend. But the hope of going with his government is low.

Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will present the bill on Monday in the Upper House and will request for pass the bill . But the Congress said that it persisted on the old trend. Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma in the Rajya Sabha said that the Congress has objection to the provision of criminality in the bill. Congress general secretary K. C. Venugopal said in Kochi on Saturday that in the Rajya Sabha, the Congress will not join the other parties in passing the bill in the present form.
