Mumbai: Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, stated that the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented soon. However, only the Chief Minister will make the announcement.
On Thursday, Devendra Fadnavis told reporters that the Uniform Civil Code is being implemented in all of the country’s states. The Union Home Minister has directed that all states implement the Uniform Civil Code legislation on their own. As a result, all states must make a decision in this regard at some point. All states are implementing it at their own pace. It is also being considered for implementation in Maharashtra.
According to Devendra Fadnavis, the Uniform Civil Code was implemented in Goa and will be implemented in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Gujarat. Preparations are being made in Maharashtra to implement it as well, but only the Chief Minister has the authority to do so.
