Imphal: Manipur is expecting the arrival of 35-years old boxer Marry Kom from the national capital, wherever she has written a record by turning into the first woman boxer to win six gold medals at Boxing World Championship, to honour her during a massive means.
Making this announcement in Imphal on Sunday, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren said: “All sections of individuals within the country happy with Kom and she is from Manipur. The govt is prepared to accord her the best honour to the present world-famous boxer”.
Biren said: “It (honour) could also be ‘queen of Manipur’ or ‘mother of Manipur’ or something appropriate her international standing. we are waiting for her arrival. We shall receive her during an appropriate manner with the title”.
