The National Union of Journalists-India has announced to honor the heroes and heroes of the Corona period for the organizations and individuals who have done remarkable work in the Corona period. A seven-member selection committee has been formed to select professionals, common people and organizations working as frontline warriors amid the Corona epidemic. The committee will be headed by eminent journalist and former chairman of the Editors Guild of India, Dr. Alok Mehta. The committee comprises former Chief Secretary of Assam and retiring IAS Mr. Kamalkanti Mittal, former Chief Medical Superintendent of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Dr. RS Tonk, President of the NGO Chappal, Mr. Ashok Dhyanchand, former Hockey Olympian of India and World Cup champion team player Mr. TS Rana, former Chief Information Director, Uttar Pradesh, Supreme Court lawyer and environmentalist Mr. Ashwini Dubey and Pra Members of the Council of India and journalist Mr. Anand Rana.
In a press conference held on Saturday at the NUJ-I headquarters at Jantar Mantar Road, NUJ-I President Ras Bihari, Delhi Journalists Association (DJA) President Rakesh Thapliyal and General Secretary KP Malik told that during the outbreak of the corona epidemic, individuals from different regions Provided food, ration, financial assistance and other facilities to the poor. Leaders of political parties, doctors, paramedical staff, administrative officers, policemen and journalists have played a special role in helping the needy people in this crisis. Some people were also infected. Unfortunately many Corona warriors died due to being infected with Corona. The heroes of the Corona era will be respected by the NUJ and the respective state units throughout the country. The press conference was also broadcast through webnars.
NUJ-I General Secretary Mr. Prasanna Mohanty and other officials were also addressed to the press conference. NUZ-I treasurer Dr. Arvind Singh Uttar Pradesh, vice-president Pradeep Tiwari Madhya Pradesh, MDVSR Punnam Raju Andhra Pradesh, Syed Junaid Jammu and Kashmir, Bhupen Goswami Assam, Ramchandra Kannojia Uttarakhand, secretary Kamal Kant Upamanyu Uttar Pradesh, Pankaj Soni Rajasthan, Katha Kari Kandhaswamy Tamil Nadu and Prashant Chakravati Tripura also addressed. The DJA officials were present at the Jantar Mantar office on the occasion.
