Maldives Parliament Speaker Mohammad Nasheed is leading a 14-member parliamentary delegation on a five-day visit to India next week to seek cooperation between the legislators of the two countries.
The delegation has 15 members with equal representation for all political parties and is being held with the Secretary-General of Parliament and the Counselor-General.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the Maldives and the 19th Parliament of the Lok Sabha.
Nasheed said the MoU would focus on establishing an official guideline to promote avenues for reform in Parliament and its administration. This includes sharing information and providing and promoting democratic support on international platforms.
