On the 125th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a hologram statue of the leader at India Gate, marking the start of the Republic Day celebrations.
The Republic Day celebrations will begin on January 23 this year, rather than January 24, to coincide with Netaji’s birth anniversary. At 6 p.m., Prime Minister Modi will unveil the hologram statue of Netaji at an event at India Gate in Delhi.
“At a time when the entire nation is commemorating Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birthday, I am pleased to announce that his grand granite statue will be installed at India Gate. This would be a representation of India’s debt to him “In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi stated.
In a tweet, the prime minister announced that an iconic statue will be erected at the helm of India Gate to honour India’s great freedom fighter and his supreme sacrifice for the country’s independence.
The 28-foot-long hologram statue will be installed beneath a canopy that once housed a statue of King George V that was removed in 1968, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
A 4K projector with 30,000 lumens will power the hologram statue. According to the PMO statement, an invisible, high gain, 90% transparent holographic screen has been erected in such a way that it is not visible to visitors. To create the illusion of a hologram, a 3D image of Netaji will be projected on the screen.
