Protests in Moscow over government’s decision to raise retirement age

Political activists residents protested pension reform on Wednesday at a rally in national capital that had been approved by local authorities, and there have been no reports of arrests.

The government proclaimed its plans last month to lift the retirement age, for men from sixty to sixty five and for ladies from fifty five to sixty three, to ease pressure on state
coffers from an ageing population and weak economic growth made worse by the impact of sanctions.
“I don’t need them to prolong my youth.I want to earn what I worked for. I worked, and I paid my (pension) contributions.
All of a unforeseen I learn that able not be able to use them for my living,” national capital resident Oleg Kovalenko said.
