If necessary, I have to prove all my articles as plagiarism. Because the position, the power is in his hands, if he says so, these will be accepted by the people. People will accept what the journalists say. Samia will not be allowed to stay anyway. Samia has so much courage to hold a press conference against us! This time I will give him the last blow. ‘

Samia Rahman further writes, ‘Why is he so angry, so angry against me? তিনি Was he the one behind the conspiracy of Alex Martin’s false letter? Trying to hit me one last time for fear of being exposed? How do you tell others about morality? ‘

An article titled ‘A New Dimension of Colonialism and Pop Culture: A Case Study of the Cultural Imperialism’ co-authored by Samia Rahman, a teacher in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University and Mahfuzul Haque Marjan, another lecturer at the University in December 2016. Published in Social Science Review. The two were accused of plagiarism.

The incident was investigated and a tribunal was constituted to punish them. Although the tribunal proposed to cancel the increment of one of the two, the syndicate of the university rejected the proposal ‘in all respects’ and demoted the two. Among them, Samia Rahman, a teacher in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, was promoted from Associate Professor to Assistant Professor. He will not be able to apply for promotion within the next two years. Another convicted university lecturer, Syed Mahfuzul Haque Marjan, is now out of the country on study leave. When he returned at the end of the holiday, he was promoted. But as per the decision of the syndicate, after joining the department, he will have to work as a lecturer for two more years.

Samia Rahman told a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the capital’s Segunbagicha on Monday that he had been unjustly framed for conspiracy. He has been made a ‘scapegoat’.
