SEAWAYS SHIPPING BRINGS EXOTIC ANIMALS

FOR WORLD-CLASS ZOO NEAR STATUE OF UNITY

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid floral tribute to India’s first Home Minister, Shri Sardar Vallabhai Patel, at the Statue of Unity on the occasion of his 144th birth anniversary.

A short distance away, the newly-developed Sardar Patel Zoological Park was brimming with activity with a number of rare and exotic animals brought in from across the world. In keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the zoo and safari parkis expected to play a significant role in making the region a major tourism hub.

In the last few days, over 43 exotic animals consisting of Giraffes, Zebras, Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbok, Oryx and Impalas were transported on a Boeing 777by Seaways Shipping from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Ahmedabad on a chartered flight. The Seaways team carefully chosethis specific model of aircraftto ensurea safe and comfortable journey for the animals. 

Seaways Shipping is one of the largest logistics companies in India with proven expertise in handling such special shipments across the world. Earlier this month, they had also helped to transport over 30 rare and exotic species including Wallabies, Llamas and Alpacas from the Netherlands to be housed in this zoological park.

The new world-class zoo which is being developed across 1,300 acres over seven levels, will house a large variety of animals like lions, tigers, leopards, various types of deer and antelopes, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, bisons and other exotic animals.

Over 26 lakh tourists have visited the towering pride of India, the Statue of Unity in the past one year, making it one of the most prominent tourist destinations in India. The memorial to Sardar Patel is the world’s tallest statue (182 metres), and was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on October 31st, last year.
