Telangana Govt presents ₹3 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2025-26

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Wednesday presented  ₹3 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2025-26. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka  tabled the budget in the State Assembly.

The budget is marginally higher than the previous fiscal (2024-25) with revenue expenditure at Rs 2,20,944 crore and capital expenditure at Rs 33,486.5 crore.

The government’s focus on agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. Major allocations include Rs 24,439 crore for agriculture, Rs 23,108 crore for education, Rs 12,393 crore for health, Rs 31,605 crore for rural development, and Rs 17,677 crore for urban development. Welfare programs received significant funding, with Rs 40,232 crore allocated for Scheduled Castes welfare, Rs 17,169 crore for Scheduled Tribes, and Rs 11,405 crore for Backward Classes.

For Congress government’s flagship schemes,

Rythu Bharosa: ₹18,000 crore , Cheyutha: ₹14,861 crore,  Indiramma Housing: ₹12,571 crore, Mahalakshmi Scheme: ₹4,305 crore,  Rajiv Yuva Vikasam: ₹6,000 crore, to support students ₹4,452 crore, Power Subsidy ₹11,500 crore.

Bhatti Vikrarmarka indicated that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Telangana at current prices stands at Rs 16.12 lakh crore for 2024-25, reflecting a 10.1 per cent growth rate, surpassing the national GDP growth of 9.9 per cent. The State’s per capita income stands at Rs 3,79,751, nearly 1.8 times higher than the national average of Rs 2,05,579.
