Hyderabad: Following the recent’security breach’ in Punjab, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on Saturday has been given special attention.
He will dedicate the 216-foot-tall ‘Statue of Equality’ at Muchintal in Hyderabad, which commemorates the 1,000th birth anniversary of the 11th-century saint Sri Ramanujacharya. He will also kick off the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT50th )’s anniversary celebrations, where he will unveil the Climate Change Research Facility on Plant Protection as well as the Rapid Generation Advancement Facility.
On Saturday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will greet the Prime Minister and accompany him throughout his activities in the city. According to official sources, nearly 7,000 police officers, including Central teams, will provide security for the Prime Minister’s visit at both venues on the city’s outskirts.
DGP M Mahender Reddy and other top officials are ensuring flawless arrangements at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad, as well as both venues, in coordination with the Central teams. Somesh Kumar, the DGP, and other officials are constantly monitoring all of the arrangements and coordinating with all of the departments involved.
On Saturday afternoon, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Shamshabad airport. Narendra Modi will be flown down to the ICRISAT campus in a chopper shortly after his arrival. Modi will fly back to the airport after inaugurating ICRISAT’s 50th anniversary celebrations, and then travel by road to Muchintal in the Rangareddy district near the airport to unveil the ‘Statue of Equality’ at Ramanujacharya Asharam. Later that evening, he will return to Delhi from RGIA.
