Rail and road communication for Dhubri city’s district headquarters, Dhubri district has been in a standoff for the third consecutive day because the flood water has submerged all the streets of the city.
The main GTB road connecting Gauripur with Dhubri city has also become submerged.
Railway service has also been stopped with flood affected people since Tuesday. The population of about 10 lakh has been affected. Due to the constant increase in flood water in Dhubri city, the situation of the district is likely to worsen.
The river Brahmaputra was blowing at Dhubri at 7:30 in the evening at 30.36 meters, which is above the danger level of 28.62 meters.
Mr.Vishnu Deo Roy, Superintending Engineer, Hydrological Observation Circle, CWC, Guwahati told to Riaan Tv -Bureau said that there will be a rising trend of water level slowly up to 4cm and water level will become steady for few hours. Thereafter, in the afternoon the water level will start falling slowly.
However, local residents of Dhubri town are crying for drinking water and electricity.
