US calls Iran to apologize for arresting UK ambassador

The US on Saturday called for Iran to apologize for detaining the British ambassador in Tehran, allegedly during protests against the regime.

“It violates the Vienna Convention, which has a notorious history of violating the regime. We formally apologize to Britain for violating its rights in the state and respecting the rights of all diplomats,” the State Department Spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus tweeted.
