The Trump Administration has announced the launch of two projects in India with private sector partnerships under the initiative to empower five crore women across the globe. This historic initiative is being led by President Donald Trump’s daughter and Senior Advisor
The White House said that in partnership with PepsiCo in West Bengal, the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) will work for women’s empowerment. The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) will expand the IndusInd Microfinance to give women a loan of $ 10 million to women in India.
Apart from this, the Office of Global Women’s Issues of the Ministry of External Affairs will be started with ‘Microfinance Civil Society Organization’ and ‘We Rise’ program. Its aim is to reduce the difficulties faced by women entrepreneurs. After signing the memorandum, Trump said, ‘Our goal will be to reach more than 5 million women in developing countries by year 2025 and this work will be eunca. Our goal is to empower women so that they can help crores of families in their countries and around the world to make them self-reliant. “
