He announced the initiation of work on the third unit of the Deenbandhu Chaudhary Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant, benefiting Yamunanagar’s industries and supporting the broader goals of increased power production and modernization.

During a recent address, the Prime Minister emphasized the vital role of electricity in India’s development, outlining various government initiatives aimed at improving power availability. He mentioned programs such as One Nation-One Grid, new coal power plants, solar energy projects, and nuclear sector expansion, underscoring the need to boost electricity production to prevent power shortages that hinder national progress. Reflecting on the frequent blackouts prior to 2014, he criticized the previous government’s performance, asserting that factory operations, railways, and irrigation systems suffered due to inadequate power supply. He noted that India has nearly doubled its electricity production capacity in the last decade and now exports power, with Haryana generating 16,000 MW, slated to increase to 24,000 MW.

The Prime Minister also introduced the PM Suryagarh Muft Bijli Yojana, which allows citizens to install solar panels, reducing bills and generating income from surplus power. Over 1.25 crore people have registered in this scheme, creating opportunities for MSMEs and youth employment. Additionally, he highlighted financial support provided to MSMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic and reforms to their definitions to facilitate growth without losing government backing. Notable initiatives include the Mudra Yojana, which has disbursed ₹33 lakh crore in loans, benefiting marginalized communities significantly. Lastly, he lauded Haryana’s farmers for their contributions, showcasing government support through crop procurement and various schemes totaling substantial financial assistance.

He emphasized the collaboration between the Union and state governments to create new income opportunities for farmers and livestock owners, referencing the Gobardhan Yojana. This initiative enables farmers to convert waste into biogas, with the budget announcing 500 Gobardhan plants nationwide, including a new plant in Yamunanagar expected to save ₹3 crore annually. Modi noted that the Yojana also supports the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, promoting cleanliness and sustainability.

He commended Haryana’s rapid development, recalling his visit to Hisar to inaugurate direct flight services to Ayodhya Dham and announcing a new bypass for Rewari to ease traffic congestion. This four-lane bypass will reduce travel time between Delhi and Narnaul by an hour, marking a significant achievement.

PM Modi emphasized that for his party, politics is about serving the people. He pointed out that the Haryana government is fulfilling its commitments after being elected for a third term, contrasting this with the opposition-ruled states where public trust has been betrayed. He cited issues in Himachal Pradesh, where development has stalled, and highlighted rising costs in Karnataka, alongside public dissatisfaction and allegations of corruption within the incumbent government.
