China’s recent white paper accuses the United States of being the likely source of the COVID-19 virus before it reached China and demands a public response from Washington.
Titled “COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Origin Tracing: China’s Actions and Stance,” the document was issued by the Information Office of the State Council and highlights China’s cooperation with international experts and the WHO in tracing the virus’s origins, claiming a low likelihood of a Wuhan lab leak.
It also charges the US with shifting blame for its pandemic management failures onto China and calls for an investigation into the virus’s origins within the US.
