Municipal Polls: Gadwal Collector Reviews Postal Ballot Arrangements

Hyderabad: Gadwal District Collector B.M. Santosh inspected the Postal Ballot Facilitation Centre established at the Gadwal Municipal Office to facilitate voting by employees assigned to municipal election duties.

The facility has been set up to enable polling personnel and other election staff to exercise their franchise through postal ballots in their respective municipalities as per election guidelines.

During his visit, the Collector reviewed the number of applications received from eligible staff seeking postal ballot facility and examined the documentation process being followed by officials. He also verified the details recorded in the application forms submitted by election personnel.

Santosh interacted with officials managing the help desk and enquired about the arrangements made for smooth conduct of the postal ballot process. He issued instructions to ensure that all procedures are followed strictly in accordance with Election Commission norms.

The Collector also directed officials to carefully verify the identity and voter details of staff members who arrived to cast their postal ballots. He emphasised the need to cross-check the information with the ward-wise electoral rolls to avoid discrepancies.

Officials were instructed to maintain proper records and ensure transparency throughout the process so that eligible staff could exercise their voting rights without difficulty.

The District Collector stressed the importance of systematic management of postal ballot voting as it plays a crucial role in enabling election personnel to participate in the democratic process. Officials said necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the process is conducted smoothly and in a transparent manner.
