2026–27 Union Budget as path to ‘Viksit Bharat’ : Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana President N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a significant step towards realising the vision of Viksit Bharat, stating that the proposals reflect the Centre’s long-term development roadmap.

Speaking about the key features of the Budget, he said it places emphasis on strengthening the agricultural sector through sustainable and green farming initiatives, improving food storage infrastructure and promoting welfare measures aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.

Rao said the Budget reflects the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat by encouraging domestic manufacturing, improving energy security and introducing policy measures intended to reduce dependence on imports. He added that such initiatives would help strengthen India’s economic resilience and industrial capacity.

Referring to Telangana, the BJP leader said the state stands to benefit from infrastructure initiatives, particularly the proposed high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with other major cities. He said such projects would further enhance Hyderabad’s importance as a major economic and technology hub.

He also expressed confidence that the infrastructure push and industrial support measures announced in the Budget would create new employment opportunities and accelerate economic activity.

Rao maintained that the Budget reflects a balanced approach towards growth, welfare and infrastructure development. He said the Centre’s focus on long-term economic stability, innovation and connectivity would benefit all states, including Telangana. Expressing optimism, he added that effective implementation of the proposed schemes would play a crucial role in achieving inclusive development. He further stated that the BJP would continue to work towards ensuring that Telangana receives maximum benefit from central schemes and development programmes.
