Hyderabad: Bank employees staged a one-day strike at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada on Tuesday. A large number of employees participated in the protest by raising the slogans and called for swift action from the authorities.
As part of the protest, employees demanded the government to implement a five-day work week. Employees alleged that the government had failed to honour its promise made during the 12th wage revision.
The protesters argued that their demands were both reasonable and long overdue. They stated that bank staff play a vital role in implementing government welfare schemes.
