BRS legislator Maganti Gopinath passes away

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath has been declared as dead by doctors at AIG Hospitals.

On Sunday early morning, doctors declared dead.  He was hospitalised after he suffered a heart attack at his residence here on June 5.

He was also suffering from a kidney related ailment, after undergoing a surgery a couple of months ago.

Maganti Gopinath was elected as an MLA from Jubilee Hills constituency in 2014, 2018, and 2023. He first won the Assembly election in 2014 on a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ticket. Later, he joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and contested the 2018 election on a BRS ticket and won. In the latest 2023 election, he scored a hat-trick by defeating Congress candidate Mohammad Azharuddin.
