Farmers in Siddipet have launched a postcard campaign

Hyderabad : Several farmers in the Siddipet written postcards to the Chief Minister’s Jubilee Hills residence. Farmers demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to implement the schemes that the Congress had promised during the Assembly election campaign.

Writing a letter at the Cotton marketyard in Siddipet, paddy farmer K Srinivas Reddy, a resident of Lingareddipally, urged the government to extend the bonus of Rs.500 per quintal of paddy apart from giving the financial assistance of Rs.15,000 under Rythu Bharosa, waiver of loans up to Rs.2 lakh and Rythu Bima.

The farmers, in their letters have also demanded the government to announce Rs.25,000 as compensation for each acre of crop that suffered damages due to unseasonal rains or went dry due to water shortage.
