Hyderabad : Immersion of lord Ganesh idols began from today at different water bodies in and around the city. Several devotees carried idols installed at their homes to the nearest water bodies.
The immersion is usually held on the third day after idol installation and later on the fifth, seventh, ninth, and finally on the 10th and 11th day. This year, the main Ganesh idol immersion will take place on September 6.
The GHMC identified 20 major lakes, including Hussain Sagar, Saroor Nagar Lake, IDL Lake, Safilguda Lake, and Sunnam Lake, for the immersion.
