HRF president demands State govt to release detained UoH students immediately

Hyderabad: The Human Rights Forum (HRF) president M Suresh on Monday demanded the government to immediately release all University of Hyderabad (UoH) students who were detained during protest against clearing the forested area in Kancha Gachibowli here on Sunday.

He condemned the decision to auction 400 acres in Kancha Gachibowli. He wanted the government to allocate the 400 acres of land exclusively to the UoH.

He wanted a comprehensive survey of the entire university land be done and land must be officially registered under the varsity’s name.

He also sought assessment of the biodiversity to protect the region’s ecological balance and historical significance.
