Hyderabad: With municipal elections approaching in Telangana, political activity has intensified across various towns as leaders from the Congress, BRS and BJP step up campaign efforts to secure victories for their respective candidates.
Senior leaders and local representatives of major parties have begun extensive campaigning through door-to-door outreach, local meetings and public interactions to mobilise voter support. The presence of multiple candidates in several municipalities is expected to make the contests closely fought.
Apart from the major political parties, several independent candidates have also entered the fray and are actively campaigning in their respective wards. Political observers believe that strong independent candidates could influence outcomes in closely contested municipalities.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reportedly directed Congress MLAs and party leaders to work towards ensuring victory in every municipality. Following these instructions, party leaders have intensified their campaign strategies and increased their grassroots engagement.
Party sources said leaders are focusing on highlighting government welfare schemes, development works and local issues during the campaign. Other parties are also emphasising governance, civic development and local concerns to attract voters.
With polling dates approaching, campaign activities are expected to gather further momentum in the coming days. Election authorities are also making necessary arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections. The municipal polls are being closely watched as they are expected to reflect the current political mood at the local level.
