Pakistan has granted over 6,500 visas to Indian Sikh pilgrims for the Baisakhi festival, allowing them to visit significant religious sites like Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib, and Kartarpur Sahib from April 10 to April 19.
Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires in India, Saad Ahmad Warraich, emphasized that this initiative fosters religious harmony and brotherhood. The visa policy seeks to connect diverse cultures and religions while supporting pilgrimages to sacred sites. Recently, the Pakistan High Commission also issued 154 visas for a pilgrimage to Shri Katas Raj temple.
Thousands of Indian pilgrims visit Pakistan annually under a protocol established in 1974 to celebrate various religious festivals.
