PM Modi Greets RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on 75th Birthday, Calls Him a True Symbol of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended warm wishes to RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on his 75th birthday, describing him as a guiding light who truly lives by the Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the belief that “the whole world is one family.”

PM Modi’s Reflections

PM Modi recalled his close bond with Bhagwat Ji’s family, especially his father Madhukarrao Bhagwat, who played a key role in building the RSS in Gujarat. He noted that inspired by his father’s commitment, Mohan Bhagwat took up the role of Pracharak in the 1970s, during the difficult years of the Emergency, and has since worked tirelessly at the grassroots level.

Highlighting Bhagwat Ji’s leadership journey, PM Modi wrote about his rise from training in-charge in the 1990s, to Sarkaryawah in 2000, and eventually becoming the Sarsanghchalak in 2009. Modi praised him for balancing tradition with modernity, encouraging youth participation, and using technology to strengthen outreach.

Contributions and Vision

The Prime Minister lauded Bhagwat Ji’s role in steering the RSS during challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, his efforts in supporting social campaigns like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and his vision of “Panch Parivartan” — focusing on social harmony, family values, environment, national pride, and civic responsibility.

PM Modi described the RSS as an “Akshayavat” (eternal banyan tree), and credited Bhagwat Ji’s leadership for keeping it strong and deeply rooted in India’s culture. He also admired Bhagwat Ji’s calm nature, listening skills, and interest in music and reading, which enrich his personality.

A Special Tribute

Concluding his message, PM Modi said:
“Mohan Ji shows us the meaning of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. By treating everyone as our own, he inspires trust, equality, and brotherhood. I pray for his long and healthy life dedicated to Maa Bharti.”

As the RSS celebrates its centenary year, this milestone birthday of its chief has become a moment of both reflection and renewed commitment to the organization’s mission.
