After a notable drop prior 24 hours ago, the domestic stock market began today’s trading session with positive gains in the early hours. Initially strong, the market faced selling pressure shortly after the first half-hour, causing fluctuations in both the Sensex and Nifty indices; however, they remained up nearly 1 percent. By the end of the first hour, the Sensex rose by 0.99 percent, while the Nifty increased by 1.03 percent.
Among major stocks, Shriram Finance, Titan Company, Bharat Electronics, Bajaj Finserv, and Adani Ports saw gains between 4.79 percent to 1.83 percent. Conversely, Trent Limited, Power Grid Corporation, and Nestlé recorded losses from 0.96 percent to 0.32 percent. Active trading occurred in 2,384 stocks, with 2,038 stocks in the green and 346 in the red. Of the 30 stocks in the Sensex, 28 gained, while 2 faced selling pressure; similarly, 47 of the 50 Nifty stocks were in the green.
The BSE Sensex opened today at 74,013.73 points, rising by 875.83 points initially, hitting 74,421.65 points before profit-taking led to a decline. By 10:15 AM, the Sensex traded at 73,865.40 points, up by 727.50 points. The NSE Nifty opened at 22,446.75 points, gaining 285.15 points, but also experienced selling pressure, settling at 22,390.30 points, up by 228.70 points by the same time. The previous trading day saw significant losses for both indices.
