Turmeric farmers demands State and Central Govts to fulfill their promises

Hyderabad: Turmeric farmers from three districts Jagtial, Nizamabad, and Nirmal demanded State and Central governments to fulfill their promises which made during the time of elections.

Farmers took out a huge rally in Metpalli town and demanded to support price for the crop. They took out a rally from Metpalli market yard to the old bus stand.

On the occasion, farmers demanded State and Central governments to provide Rs 15,000 MSPs to turmeric under market intervention scheme (MIS) and purchase crop directly from farmers by establishing procurement centers.

They wanted the government to identify traders who were deliberately reducing the price by forming syndicate and register criminal cases besides canceling their licenses.
