Hyderabad : City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar warned transgender groups for rising complaints of harassment and forced money collection.
Commissioner addressed a meeting with around 250 transgender persons at CESS, Ameerpet.
During the meeting he highlighted internal disputes within the community that have led to clashes and, in some cases, fatalities.
Commissioner also stated that, police have received several grievances about groups visiting homes during auspicious occasions and demanding large sums.
He assured that while the police will act firmly on violations, they will support those seeking to live with dignity.
