Hyderabad: Industrial Extension Cottage (Indext-C), Government of Gujarat, is organizing “Gujarat Handicrafts Utsav” at Shilparamam, Madhapur, Hyderabad, from 23rd October to 1st November 2025, showcasing the rich heritage of Gujarat’s handloom and handicraft traditions.
Indext-C, functioning under the Department of Industries and Mines, Government of Gujarat, works with the primary objective of empowering artisans, boosting their livelihoods, and providing marketing platforms for traditional and rural crafts. This initiative aligns with the Government of Gujarat’s vision of self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) by supporting artisans in expanding their market reach and enhancing their income opportunities.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM, offering visitors a vibrant experience of Gujarat’s cultural artistry through live demonstrations, exhibitions, and sales of exquisite handmade products.
Over 80 master craftsmen and award-winning artisans from across Gujarat will participate, presenting a diverse range of crafts such as:

Patola weaving, Tangaliya weaving, Shawl weaving

Kutchi embroidery, Ajrakh block printing, Tie & Dye (Bandhej)

Leather craft, Copper bell making, Mud mirror work

Zari-Zardosi, Bead work, Agate artefacts, Wood and metal art

Jewellery and accessories, Home décor, Appliqué and Chaniya Choli designs, and much more
The event also features Kachchi Ghodi and Puppet Shows, providing visitors an immersive glimpse into Gujarat’s living folk traditions.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by R. S. Shah, Manager, Indext-C, and Dr. Snehal Makwana, Marketing Manager, along with national awardee artisans. The event is being conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Joshi, IAS, Executive Director, Indext-C, and with the encouragement of Ms. Ardra Agarwal, IAS, Chairman, Indext-C and Secretary & Commissioner, Cottage and Rural Industries, Government of Gujarat.
Ms. Agarwal urged art and craft enthusiasts of Hyderabad to visit the fair, interact with artisans, and support India’s rich craft legacy by purchasing authentic, handmade artefacts directly from the creators at the Gujarat Handicrafts Utsav.
