- Politics has escalated over the Enforcement Directorate’s charge sheet against Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in the National Herald case. Congress labels it as political vendetta, while BJP leader Hardeep Singh Puri counters these claims.
At a press conference, he argued that Congress’s reactions are misleading to their own party workers and suggested they should engage in self-reflection and protest against their leaders. Puri described the case as clear evidence of fraud, corruption, and money laundering, asserting that Congress has employed various legal tactics to delay proceedings.
He highlighted that the National Herald, operational since 1937, ceased in 2008, with the case’s roots in 2012-13 when Congress was in power. He emphasized the acquisition of properties worth ₹2,000 crores for merely ₹50 lakhs as indicative of malpractice. Puri maintained that the law is functioning correctly, despite Congress’s claims of injustice.
