Lights, Camera, Bengal: Experience Magic of Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival 2024 & Esprimiti 4th Edition

Hyderabad:  The Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival (HBFF) has come a long way since its inception in 2014, thanks to the continuous support of the Bengalis in Hyderabad. This year, on August 3rd & 4th, the festival is all set to conduct its 2024 edition along with the 4th edition of Esprimiti.

As a tribute to the legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen, the festival will be screening his film “Chalchitra Ekhon”, directed by his long-time collaborator Sri Anjan Dutt.

This year’s lineup also includes other notable Bengali films such as Whispers of Fire & Water, Niharika and Once Upon a Time in Calcutta. This celebration not only showcases the rich cultural heritage of Bengal but also highlights the strong ties between Telangana and West Bengal.

The festival will be inaugurated by prominent figures such as Supran Sen, Secretary General of Film Federation of India, and Kishen Rao and Chandana Khan, both IAS officers. The two-day event will also include an art exhibition, live performances, food festival, and a festival of art & culture.

The closing ceremony will take place on August 4th at Ethnic Hall, Shilparamam and will be attended by notable personalities from the film industry and government officials. Overall, this year’s HBFF promises to be a grand celebration of Bengali cinema and culture, bridging the gap between two distinct yet intertwined cultures.
