Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed between BRS and Congress supporters during ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ and ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ cheques distribution at Malkajgiri Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) on Friday.
The incident occurred while distributing cheques to the beneficiaries. During the event, BRS leaders and party workers demanded that the State government fulfil its promise of distributing one tola of gold along with the cheque of Rs one lakh, as promised during elections and raised slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress party.
The protests led to an argument between BRS and Congress. The two groups that eventually led to a clash. The police intervened and brought the situation under control.
