Kathmandu: Nag Panchami, celebrated annually on Shravan Shukla Panchami, is celebrated on Friday by worshipping snakes in various Nepali locations.
Devotees gather in Nagdah, Nagsthan, and other places to offer flowers, rice, and milk to the snake god. They also display pictures of the snake god on their main doors. The belief is that by doing so, creatures like snakes and scorpions will not harm them and will be saved from fear of fire, clouds, and lightning.
Additionally, Kunds and Naga places across Nepal, including Nagpokhari and Taudaha in Kathmandu, Siddhapokhari, and Nagdaha in Bhaktapur, are being specially worshipped today, offering cow milk, Akshat, Duva, Kheer, and roti.
