Operation Sindoor: PM Modi meets prez Murmu ;lauds armed forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their targeted strikes against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after Operation Sindoor, as discussed in a recent Union Cabinet meeting. Following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, Modi granted full operational autonomy to the Armed Forces.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu at the Presidential Palace to discuss Operation Sindoor, a significant military action against terrorist bases in Pakistan. Conducted by the Indian Armed Forces, this operation aimed to avenge the Pulwama attack, which claimed 26 lives, by targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Following the meeting, the Presidential Palace shared a photo on its X handle. During a Cabinet meeting, Modi expressed pride in the operation, emphasizing its precision and the armed forces’ execution. He provided details to his Cabinet colleagues about the operation and the aftermath, declaring it a moment of national pride. The airstrikes were a response to the Pulwama attack, targeting groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

An all-party meeting is set for Thursday, with the Cabinet Committee on Security meeting thrice since the attack.
